About Tatyana Bashkatova, MPsy, RP, AAC

Registered Psychotherapist in Barrie, Ontario
Offering trauma-informed therapy for adults and couples seeking deep emotional healing

A Compassionate Guide for Complex Emotional Healing

Tatyana Bashkatova is a Registered Psychotherapist fluent in English and Russian, offering both in-person and online sessions across Ontario. With over 15 years of experience, she supports adult individuals and couples navigating trauma, emotional overwhelm, and relationship challenges—especially those who feel stuck despite having tried therapy before.

Her clients are often midlife professionals who appear composed on the outside but carry deep emotional pain within. Many have histories of childhood trauma, unresolved grief, or emotionally unavailable family dynamics. They’ve shouldered responsibilities for others for years, often at the cost of their own emotional needs. Now, they’re ready for something more—a therapy experience that goes beyond coping tools to uncover lasting change.

Her Approach: Deeply Experiential, Emotionally Safe

Tatyana’s practice is rooted in depth-oriented and experiential therapy. She blends evidence-based modalities like Internal Family Systems (IFS), Family Systems Therapy (FST), and Gestalt Therapy with Emotion-Image Therapy (EIT)—a powerful method that uses visual metaphors to access unconscious emotional patterns.

Clients working with Tatyana often describe feeling deeply seen, gently guided, and empowered to engage in courageous inner work. Her calm presence, intuitive insight, and creative lens help clients explore emotional layers that traditional talk therapy may overlook. She meets each person with attunement, cultural sensitivity, and a belief in their capacity to heal.

Whether through parts work, symbolic imagery, or emotionally focused dialogue, Tatyana creates a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to reconnect with themselves and rewrite old emotional narratives.

Who She Works With

Tatyana specializes in supporting:

  • Adults (20+) experiencing emotional overwhelm, grief, or complex trauma
  • Couples struggling with emotional disconnection, trust issues, or recurring conflict
  • Professionals facing burnout, midlife transitions, or identity shifts
  • Individuals who’ve tried cognitive or skills-based therapy and now want to explore deep emotional reasons for their  issues

Her clients are ready to move beyond surface-level symptom relief and explore the roots of their distress. They want a therapist who brings structure, creativity, and deep presence to the healing process.
